Project Info

Animal Assisted Happiness is dedicated to bringing smiles to children with special needs and other health/family challenges.

One of our programs, Caring for Animals, Reaching Each other (CARE), is a program for young children with special needs to interact with animals and each other. Recent school budget cuts have eliminated many of the schools’ social groups for special education classes. With the support of SEPTA, Animal Assisted Happiness is working to fill some of this gap. CARE provides two one-hour sessions weekly for this program and is expected to impact 640 children and their families in 2010.

This program was created by Jonathan Coleman, a 10 year old child with autism, to help other children with special needs. Please support Jonathan, AAH, and the many children and their families who will be impacted by this program and help us reach our 2010 goal.
