Adopt a Camper With HIV

The Safe Haven Project Inc.

Each year for sixteen years The Safe Haven Project has created an annual camp experience for kids living with HIV and AIDS. This camp happens on beautiful Martha's Vineyard and invited 40 kids from across the US to spend a week of peace, openness, and friendship.

Project Info

In spite of the fact that HIV and AIDS have been here for many years, there is still significant stigma and prejudice leveled against those who live with the virus. This is especially true for kids who often hide their affliction in fear of repurcussions. Camps were created in direct response to this truth and offer those who often live in secret a chance to be themselves, with others who share their experience. The transformation that can be witnessed during the camp week is profound and life changing. Camp Safe Haven has been a model of this type of outreach for 16 years and hopes to continue to offer this important experience once again this April, 2010.

FYI - The cost for each camper (all inclusive with transportation, lodging, meals, activities, gifts, and much more ) is $1000. Thus the total amount we need to raise in order to host 40 campers for a wonderful week is $40,000. We hope you will consider making a donation in any amount to help us reach our goal.
Thanks in advance.
