PROJECT
For heart surgery patients, a hug really helps!
After open heart surgery, the body needs a lot of help recovering. For patients with fluid in their lungs, being able to safely cough is critical to their recovery. These specially designed heart pillows allow patients to hug a comfortable yet firm surface while coughing, protecting their wound and helping them to take deep breaths without pain.

Project Info
Heart surgery can be scary and difficult for patients, and the recovery period can be extensive. The VMC Foundation is working to raise funds for 75 heart pillows ($14 each) to help our patients recover faster and with the comfort of these necessary cough pillows.
The VMC Foundation is committed to raising funds to improve the health and quality of life for residents across Santa Clara County, California. Our efforts help to provide healthcare to the county’s working poor, unemployed, and their children. The majority of patients served by the VMC Foundation are low-income and do not have any private health insurance.
