Project Info

The Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society operates the Catmobile which is a mobile spay/neuter clinic that offers a low $75 package of spay/neuter, microchipping, rabies and distemper vaccines, flea treatment, deworming and an exam. Through the Boston Homeless Cats Coalition we have decided to participate in a June 9 spay/neuter event in Dorchester, MA. This is an area of Boston that has the highest surrender rate for cats to the two area shelters. We are participating with the MSPCA and Animal Rescue League of Boston with this program. We hope to sterilize 100 cats that day and we need to raise $5000 in order to fund the day so we can offer the service for free to members of the community. It has been shown that communities with access to free or low cost spay/neuter will see reduction of surrender rates by about 50%. Help us, help these cats.
