Project Info

Tshikaji, Democratic Republic of Congo. Congolese ladies, all rape victims or who's family sold them into prostitution, are enrolled in a 12 month program learning French, math, geography, family hygiene, and sewing. This helps them become self-sustaining and care for their children.

Founded in December 2007, the first class of 20 ladies graduated in Dec 2008 (they had 35 children among them). There are currently 30 ladies enrolled. Upon graduation each woman receives a manual sewing machine to enable her to start a business. Your gift keeps on giving and provides hope.
