Project Info
TechGYRLS® is a highly successful nation-wide YWCA after-school empowerment program that provides girls ages 5-14 with the opportunities to increase their skills and confidence in the use of technology & engineering. Girls learn computer animation, fundamental engineering concepts, and video production, with future projects to include web design and robotics.
The goal of the TechGYRLS® Program is to provide technology education in a supportive, all-girl environment where girls feel comfortable taking risks and opening up to new learning opportunities. The YWCA of Silicon Valley is launching the TechGYRLS® program to serve Santa Clara County girls with limited access to the technology developed and produced by Silicon Valley Companies.
$11,500 will provide a total 35-40 girls with an after-school program for one school year at Canoas Elementeray and Clyde Fisher Middle School in San Jose, Ca.
