Project Info

One World Youth Project creates meaningful human to human connections which lead to social change in local communities.

This year OWYP is connecting 28 schools in 14 countries. For example, young people in Arusha, Tanzania, will participate in a year of global service and cross-cultural communication. The group in Tanzania will work along with students in Orleans, Massachusetts. Work will be conducted through online message-boards, email, letters, cultural exchange packages, and monthly curriculum assignments.

Participants will learn about the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and work with each other to design and implement local community service projects related to the goals.

Unlike other cultural exchange programmes, One World Youth Project is free and does not require that students physically travel beyond their classroom. They also provide consistent support to youth leaders and teachers. OWYP is youth-led and includes an international volunteer staff of 33 who are all under the age of 28.

Do you want to be part of this? Now more than ever, OWYP really needs your help! Apart from meeting operational costs, we are also hosting the Annual Project Ambassador retreat in year 2009 aimed at training 20-30 Project Ambassadors from all over the world in one place.

In a nutshell, no matter how much you give, it will go a long way in promoting education and cultural awareness all over the world! Please help us spread the word about this meaningful project and we would like to thank you very much for your kind assistance!
