Project Info

Redwood City Ice Theatre is a non-profit, competitive figure skating team sanctioned by United States Figure Skating. Theatre on Ice is a 20 year-old program that combines the grace and skills of figure skating with the drama and storetelling of theatre. Youth of all ages participate. In 2008, Redwood City Ice Theatre became the National Silver Medalists with their performance of Alice in Wonderland. That result earned them the chance to compete in the 2009 US Games of America. This will be the first time that Theatre on Ice has been included in the States Games program and the team is honored to have qualified for the inagural event. The team is working hard to raise the funds necessary to travel to Colorado Springs, CO. In addition to the travel costs associaed with the 19 member team, props and costumes need to be produced and shipped to Colorado, practice ice time needs to be paid for, entry fees, coaching fees, etc. are all factored in to the competition costs. This would be a once in a lifetime chance for the youth on this team to experience competition at this high level and in the historic Olympic Training Center at Colorado Springs. There is no overhead, 100% of your donation would be used to cover the direct expenses related to this competition.
