Project Info
BIGGEST NEED? – We just put everything we had into getting into the new Treasure Center and getting KEZA up and running so we have real products we can sell. We used up all the money we had making product for the executive director to bring to the states, gathering materials and paying the women while they train (about $400 per week). We have worked day and night getting SOR running like a well oiled ship. We finally have the organization we’ve been talking about for two years. However, we have one obstacle looming over our heads. We have just relocated to a new "Treasure Center" and it is perfect. This is the place that the Sisters make their home--it's where they work, worship, and spend the majority of their time--their safe haven. We have to have this place in order to keep the program running. Unfortunately, we are renting and the landlord needs to sell it. It’s on the market right now and the landlord is bringing potential buyers by all the time. We only have 2 more months if he sells it. We would LOVE to buy it. It’s way better for us than anything we’ve looked at. He’s asking about $90k for it but we think we can get him to come down. If we could mortgage it, we’d only need 20% of that as the downpayment. So that is an option as well. Time is running out on this place already, unfortunately. If you or someone you know is able to make a donation, this is the time to do it. ...and now that the KEZA necklaces are rockin' and rolling (http://www.sistersofrwanda.org/index.php?page=projects), we have already gotten more this year than we got total in the past two years! These necklaces are amazing and we are overwhelmed with the demand for them. It would be incredible to get the Treasure Center secured so we can just focus on the necklaces!
