PROJECT
Hope House is Going Green and Reducing Carbon Emissions in Redwood City!
We are so excited to start making some changes to help save the earth. The Hope House women and babies will need a healthy environment to thrive in when they graduate clean and sober from our program. We can ensure that this happens by doing our part to reduce our carbon footprint in the community.

This project will save
3,207 pounds
of Carbon Dioxide annually. |
We are starting small, and our first plan is to begin using only CFLs in one of our Residential Women’s houses. This will entail converting old light fixtures to CFL fixtures in some cases, and in compatible fixtures we will simply replace the old bulb with an energy-saving CFLs. Using all fluorescent bulbs, which use a quarter of the energy of a regular incandescent bulb, will cut energy costs for Hope House and save precious program dollars. More importantly, this effort to decrease the amount of energy that we consume daily will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions! This is a first step in making our program totally green and energy efficient. Your donations will help us begin this important process.
Keep checking in on us! Once this project gets under way, we will give regular updates on our progress. We also hope to list more and more projects as we find additional ways to make our program more earth-friendly. Thank you for your help.
