Reggie - A Success Story!
Second chances do happen! Reggie was scheduled to be euthanized at a local shelter until the Humane Society Silicon Valley stepped in and provided the critical medical care necessary to give him a new lease on life. Nurturing foster homes are vital for special needs animals like Reggie. Your donation can ensure these programs continue.

Project Info
Reggie is a 5 ½ yr old pug who was from a local shelter where he was deemed unadoptable and scheduled him for euthanasia due to multiple health issues. Members of the HSSV Regional Rescue Team brought him back to our shelter and had a specialist examine him. After vet assessment, it was determined that he needed immediate soft palate reconstruction to aid his breathing. Additionally, he suffered from impaired vision which may eventually lead to blindness (but that doesn’t seem to slow him down!). Reconstructive surgery, neutering, vaccinations, medications and microchipping all caused the bills to mount. But Reggie’s big smile and doggy kisses made everything worthwhile!
After his initial recovery, a wonderful foster home was found that cared for him until a family spotted him on the HSSV website and it was love at first sight! He is now sharing a home with his new owners and their cocker spaniel.
Your gift to “refill the coffers” will help keep our medical and foster care programs funded so that we can save more animals’ lives and share more success stories, just like Reggie’s.
