Project Info
Hercules, as a week old pup was brought to our shelter with severe facial injuries after being bitten by a dog in his household who wasn't his mother - he was just trying to nurse! After being surrendered to our shelter, our veterinarian removed bone chips from his head that were causing a horrible infection. A portion of his jaw also had to be removed. Throughout his ordeal, this adorable pup showered our staff with kisses and couldn’t get enough attention. This sweet boy will need additional dental surgery when his adult teeth come in to correct his bite and keep him pain free. He has already received age appropriate vaccinations as well as multiple medications and follow up medical visits for his care. Your gift will help Hercules and others like him get the love, medical care and attention they need while they wait to find loving permanent homes.
A note from Hercules: “After almost 5 months being cared for on-site by the HSSV staff and volunteers, I’ve moved to a foster home that I share with a big sister. Who knew that the world was so big! My foster sister (who is very bossy!) has been busy teaching me proper doggie etiquette and manners. My foster mom and dad have explained I’m going to need some more surgery when I get a little bigger. I’m ok with it ‘cause it means it will be easier to chew my squeaky toys and play tug-o-war!”
