Project Info
Keeping dogs healthy in a shelter environment can be difficult. Proper nutrition, balanced with emotional support and love keeps our shelter dogs comfortable and adoptable while they wait for us to find them a PERFECT, new loving home.
We have a cadre of wonderful volunteers and staff who work with our shelter dogs. The goal is increase a dog's adoptability by increasing their manners!!! The challenge is to make sure that the treats they use are nutritional, don't turn the dogs into fat little sausages and are tasty enough to entice them to learn.
Our shelter dogs go through about $60 PER WEEK of these treats. Each tube of treats costs about $11. For $780, HSSV can keep our shelter guests "treated" for an entire quarter!
