Project Info

This program will incorporate the Summer Reading Program established by the state and will be designed to meet the specific requirements of people with special needs. We will read, sing, and do crafts that are developmentally age appropriate reaching the preschool through 1st grade levels. We are the only library in the state to offer a specific program for people with special needs. Our goal is to allow tis population to enjoy the library without feeling like a distraction to other kids or like they are out of place. we are working with Childserve of Central Iowa and AEA11 to reach the target group. We are in need of adaptive equipment and specific craft materials that are safe for all developmental disabilities.
