All families want the dignity and hope of a place to call home.
During the period between Thanksgiving and Christmas we hope to raise $10,000, which instantly become $20,000 through Federal matching funds. This is enough to allow five families to move from the margins of our society into a home for the holidays. Imagine the joy of waking up to a profoundly different reality; one you have helped provided.
With your help, a home is within reach for New Mexicans participating in a matched savings program called Individual Development Accounts or IDA's. These accounts allow working people who complete ten weeks of financial education to make deposits of up to $1000 toward the purchase of a home, business or higher education. Through community contributions which bring an equal amount of Federal funds, that $1000 savings becomes $5000, giving working families the leg up they need to finally have a home of their own.
We hope that you will find one of the meanings of this season to be the support of a simple reality: a small investment, founded in the principals of trust and hope, can make lasting improvements in the lives of others.
