Project Info

The START Center Out of School Youth Program, (ages 17-21) curriculum consists of 16 hours per week of GED preparation and computer literacy skills. Within the core training each student has the opportunity to:
* Participate in a job skills training program
* Work at a part-time job funded by the program of 10-20 hours per week
* Receive career counseling.
* Financial aid assistance to continue their education
* Participate in a Money Management program.
* Participate in healthy behavior screenings and workshops held regularly by health professionals.
* In the case of young mothers or fathers, participate in Healthy Child workshops
* Participate in local Civic activities that promote the importance of community involvement, and citizenship.
