Project Info
Juju is a 7 month old, active gray and white tabby kitten who was surrendered to the shelter because his owners were having a baby. Being discarded has not dampened his spirits, but we're dealing with a major medical issue that is keeping us from being able to make him available for adoption. It's not unusual to deal with colds in cats and kittens in the shelter environment, but this little guy has really been through so much more!
Our wonderful veterinarian at HSSV discovered an extremely large abscess near Juju's back end that ruptured, requiring surgery. Because the wound was extremely large and rampantly infected, it could not be closed through routine means. Although the surgery itself has been completed, Juju is really just in the beginning stages of the healing process. Continuing care for Juju is going to be expensive and because of the size of the wound, he will need extra time to grow new, healthy tissue. He is on many medications daily, the surgery site requires frequent dressing changes and his daily nursing care alone is costly. Juju will also require further lab work and vet diagnostics. We've already neutered, de-wormed and given age-appropriate vaccinations to Juju, and we've also microchipped him! Won't you help us take care of these other issues so that we can get him into a loving home?
Juju is an indoor cat with a winning personality. He loves to snuggle, but is playful and feisty, too. He even likes to fetch! Stayed to tuned to hear how Juju is healing!
