Project Info

Sanctuary for Birth and Wellness is a free-standing birth and wellness center being born in the San Jose, CA area. Sanctuary, currently operating as a fiscally sponsored project of Bay Area Birth Information (BABI), is expanding women’s options regarding childbirth beyond either birthing at home or in hospital, thereby increasing choices for the kind of birth experience women can have. We envision an inviting place for families to learn, commune, give birth, and choose healthcare services. We also see a healthier community and a more harmonious world because babies are born gently and families become responsible partners in decisions affecting their physical, emotional, and social well-being. We are especially committed to reaching and serving women of lower socio-economic status and those who are considered minorities.

We are raising capital to open a center with 2 birth rooms. Help us by contributing enough money to fund equipment (beds, chairs, oxygen regulartors, heat lights, tables, lights, etc.) for the rooms.
