Your support will provide essential early childhood education and school readiness supplies to 65 low-income ethnic minority children who are limited by illiteracy and poverty.
Since our local community lacks a federally funded preschool program for low-income children, The Learning and Loving Education Center provides a learning facility for immigrant families within south Santa Clara County. Supplies for Success will provide learning tools and educational supplies for at-risk children, ages 2-5 years old who attending school readiness classes at the Learning and Loving Education Center. Your gift will purchase glue sticks, paper, wipe-off workbooks, crayons, pencils, foam art kits, preschool books and educational resources to create a high-quality learning environment for these children to learn English as a second language, beginning literacy, school readiness, writing skills, cognitive skills and participate in creative arts activities.
Each day children participate in a culturally sensitive, bilingual school readiness program while their functionally illiterate parents are attending classes to learn English as a second language, parenting, health, computer technology, and work readiness programs. Our center meets an important community need and is innovative in its structure by providing direct services to both mothers and their children. As the children’s first teachers, parents are essential to their children’s future academic success. Supplies for Success will enhance the lives of previously underserved children and gives you the opportunity to have a hand in paving the way to a brighter future for the families served by the Learning and Loving Education.
