From the teacher:
"My economics class will engage in tearing up a portion of our asphalt laden school yard and convert it into a sustainable garden. With the gardening equipment that you fund, we will begin growing produce with the help of the Richmond Food Corp and eventually begin our creation of our very own farmers market. My students will learn economics through the market and community service through their building of a healthy Richmond food system.
You can help us create a more sustainable local food system in an inner city community! Your funding will directly affect the health of our teenagers and help turn around a disturbing trend."
