NewsTrust.net helps people find good journalism online.
Our free Web site features a daily feed of quality news and opinions from independent and mainstream sources, based on ratings from our reviewers:

NewsTrust members rate the news based on journalistic quality, not just popularity. Our unique review tools help citizens evaluate core journalistic principles such as fairness, evidence and context.
NewsTrust publishes a reputation database for hundreds of mainstream and independent news sources, to help the public identify trustworthy publications. This valuable online knowledge base about the news media was created to help citizens make more informed decisions about our democracy.
NewsTrust's Executive Director is Fabrice Florin, a former journalist and a digital media pioneer at Apple and Macromedia. Our team includes award-winning journalist and media executive Rory O'Connor and former Lucasfilm project manager David Fox. Our advisors include Dan Gillmor, Howard Rheingold and other digital media innovators from organizations like Google, Stanford and others.
NewsTrust is non-profit, non-partisan and encourages both media literacy and civic engagement. Founded in 2005 and based in Mill Valley, California, NewsTrust is funded through grants and private donations and sponsored by The Global Center, a 501(c)(3) educational foundation based in Manhattan.
So far, we have received support from a wide range of donors, from Ayrshire, Mitch Kapor and Tides Foundations, to Craig Newmark (Craigslist), Doug Carlston (Public Radio International) and other private donors. Several major foundations have requested grant proposals from NewsTrust as well.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to support our work. Our non-profit project is largely funded through private donations from members like you.
