Rabbits are the third most popular pet in the United States. Unfortunately with this popularity, comes another statistic: rabbits are the third most frequently euthanized animal at shelters.

The Rabbit Haven is an all volunteer non-profit organization that rescues injured and/or abandoned rabbits and accepts surrendered rabbits from the general public or the SPCA in Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, San Benito, and Monterey counties. We then work to place these rescued rabbits into indoor loving permanent or foster homes. We also work in the community, at schools, and with local shelters and other educational groups to educate the public on responsible rabbit guardianship. We receive no city, state, or federal funds.

We have no physical shelter – so our volunteer network provides foster homes. The Rabbit Haven holds adoption and education shows on a frequent basis in Santa Cruz and Sunnyvale to help bunnies find the right permanent home for them and to help people learn about the joys of having a bunny (or two) in their home!
