About our Charity
Founded: 1936
For more than seventy years, the Junior League of Peoria has worked to make Central Illinois a better place to live. We have been able to impact our community by bringing valued projects like Race for the Cure (breast cancer research and awareness), Family House (housing for families whose children are in the local children’s hospital), and the Tri-Centennial Playground to Peoria. Today, our members diligently work to complete important work such as Kids in the Kitchen (childhood anti-obesity), I Like Me (childhood literacy and self-esteem promotion), and The Peoria PlayHouse, a planned interactive children’s museum to be opened in the Glen Oak Pavilion.
