About our Charity

Founded: 1978
Project HIRED, a not-for-profit community-based organization, was established in 1978 to create and expand competitive and integrated job and career opportunities for individuals with disabilities by partnering with private industry. Project HIRED serves a wide range of type and severity of disability, including individuals with physical and mental impairments, hearing impairment, chronic illnesses, and learning disabilities, with at least 50% of the participants having severe disabilities. An emphasis is placed on targeting minority groups and those unemployed 6 months or underemployed. Participants possess an array of skills and seek employment in a variety of industries.

Project HIRED offers a wide variety of job placement services on an individual basis and in workshops. In addition to job development, Project HIRED provides competitive employment opportunities through its HIRED Temps temporary staffing division as well as longer term employment through its outsourcing call center business services. These jobs allow candidates to build a current work history, gain experience, enhance their skills, and learn about a company or industry, while earning a regular pay check.
