About our Charity
Founded: 1986
NMED Partnerships for Children is dedicated to strengthening the ability of families and communities to support the development of healthy, educated children who have increased opportunities for the future.
Since 1986, INMED has worked in more than 100 countries to give children the healthiest possible start in life, to build a strong foundation for children’s lifelong learning, to inspire communities to invest in their children’s futures, and to create new opportunities for children to maximize their potential and achieve lifelong success.
Three key strategies define the philosophy of INMED’s work:
* Foster collaborative public-private partnerships, which offer the most sustainable approach to health, social and economic development.
* Raise awareness that children play pivotal roles as catalysts of positive change in their families and communities when provided the knowledge and opportunity to create that change.
* Incorporate multiplier effects into our programs that leverage the impact of our work and maximize the social and financial investments of our partners.
* Public-private partnerships make development investments more effective by diversifying their basis for support and broadening public advocacy. INMED partnerships seek to maximize measurable and sustainable returns on social investment, whether measured by healthier, better-educated citizens, a more competitive work force, or more traditional financial indicators.
INMED Partnerships for Children links the private sector with local non-profit institutions and governments to develop programs with compelling win/win benefits that reinforce the ongoing commitment of each stakeholder. INMED adapts its role to the goals and capabilities of participating partners by offering professional expertise, resource development, program implementation services, and leadership capabilities.
INMED is a member of Children's Charities of America and Independent Charities of America, and is included among the nonprofit organizations highlighted at Best of the CFC. In 2007, for the second consecutive year, INMED received the coveted four-star “exceptional” rating for sound fiscal management from Charity Navigator, America’s leading charity evaluator.
