Since 1982 the Art in Action Program has been enriching the lives of K-8 students by teaching art history, art appreciation and art skills. Today more than 80 schools in the Bay Area use the sequential Art in Action Program as their basic art program. Discussions of art masterpieces engage students and teachers in critical thinking and cultural awareness; related hands-on art projects inspire creativity and self-expression. Art plays a crucial role in stimulating conceptualization, experimentation, and imagination—key life skills necessary for success in the classroom and beyond. Aligned with California and National Visual Arts Standards and integrated with the core curriculum, the Art in Action Program includes an easy-to-use curriculum, large format art prints, kits of art materials, online tutorials, and hands-on training.
