About our Charity

Founded: 1958
Since 1958, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (the Club) has provided safe places every day after school and during the vulnerable summer hours for young people who reside in some of the most disadvantaged communities on the San Francisco Bay Peninsula (East Palo Alto, Redwood City and Menlo Park). The Club – which is the largest and most comprehensive youth development organization in the area – serves over 3,000 youth aged 6-18 annually and over 850 per day in its three clubhouses and three school based Center for a New Generation (CNG) sites. At the Club, youth development professionals offer a variety of engaging programs in Academics, Athletics, Visual & Performing Arts, Technology, Teen Development and Social Education. These programs, and the positive relationships our members develop with peers and caring adults, help these young people acquire the attitudes and life skills they need to succeed in school and to become productive citizens.
