Established in 1938, the purpose of the Santa Cruz SPCA is to ensure the best possible quality of life for animals and to promote respect and reverence for all. The Santa Cruz SPCA provides direct care to animals in need as well as multiple programs both local and national. Even with the current economic hardships, they still maintain an adoption rate of 99.7% of all animals that come through their doors, including old, sick and injured animals.

About Our Group

The Santa Cruz SPCA works to provide relief to overwhelmed public shelters wherever our help is needed. They perform special animal rescue on a regular basis, such as animals that have been displaced by disaster and more recently, a large amount of animals left homeless due to foreclosure. Most of the animals rescued by the Santa Cruz SPCA were slated for euthanasia before they rescued them.

The Santa Cruz SPCA receives no public funding. They survive on the generosity and good will of private donors such as us. Our continued generosity makes all the difference for the animals.
