Childhood vaccine storage needed

Charity: Planned Parenthood Mar Monte. Categories: Health . Planned Parenthood Mar Monte (PPMM) is a primary medical provider in Silicon Valley (Santa Clara County) of walk-in “fast track” childhood immunizations. This is a vital service to children without health insurance. These vaccines need to be kept in a temperature controlled environment for safe usage and to maintain their effectiveness. PPMM stores thousands of dollars worth of vaccines, so proper storage is essential.

Charity: Santa Cruz SPCA. Categories: Animals Community Social Services . Ensuring that our community's companion animals never go hungry is one of the most basic, and most critical, aspects of animal welfare.

Heather’s Pet Food Bank regularly distributes over 7,000 pounds of food a month to economically challenged and senior pet owners. With the economy in a recession, this special program is helping many families cope with enormously difficult times.

Not a sexy project...but who needs sexy when we're talking about KITTIES!

Charity: Humane Society Silicon Valley. Categories: Animals Community Environment Health Social Services . It's very, very simple - almost silly simple, really. It costs $50 to purchase a humane trap to capture a homeless cat who needs to be spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and disease tested. Humane Society Silicon Valley has humane traps that can help our community members trap homeless cats so that we can provide everything they need to be placed back into their colonies where caring people can take care of them while they live out the rest of their lives.

CATS: Being homeless doesn't have to mean living without hope!

Charity: Humane Society Silicon Valley. Categories: Animals Community . Even though homeless cats traditionally have shortened life spans, with your help, Humane Society Silicon Valley can help stem the tide of the thousands of kittens that are born homeless each year - and over time, stop the cycle of uncertainty and pain for these helpless creatures. With your support, HSSV will be able to provide spay and neuter surgeries for homeless cats at a minimal cost to caring community members. If we spay and neuter 4,800 cats per year, we will see a decline in the number of homeless cats by roughly 10% each year in our community - and more importantly, we will see a decrease in the number of cats and kittens euthanized at public shelters!

Charity: Humane Society Silicon Valley. Categories: Animals Community . Provide vaccines, microchips and tests for deadly diseases that can spread to an entire colony of homeless cats. Even though homeless cats traditionally have shortened life spans, we can help these helpless creatures live safer, healthier lives. With your support, HSSV will provide vaccinations, combo testing and microchips at cost...just $21 per cat. As a starting goal, we're going to try to raise $1,050 to provide these items for 50 cats in the month of October.

Support a Girl's Scholarship to School

Charity: Room to Read. Categories: Children and Youth Community Education International . Room to Read’s Room to Grow Girls' Scholarship Program has an immediate and direct impact on the lives of thousands of girls in the developing world. An education provides security and support to girls who often grow up in very uncertain environments and empowers them to make informed life decisions. A solid education beginning in the early years is the key ingredient for improved status for women, which provides a ripple of positive effects throughout society.

Through this project, you can fund girls' scholarships in Cambodia, India, Laos, Nepal, Sri Lanka or Vietnam. These long-term, holistic scholarships make it possible for a girl, who would otherwise not have access to an education, to attend school through the secondary level.

You can fund a one year girl's scholarship for $250 or a ten year girl's scholarship for $2,500.
