Charity: VMC Foundation. Categories: Health . Reach Out and Read (ROR) is a literacy program that unites two of children’s greatest needs into one fluid service: healthcare and literacy instruction. ROR’s mission is to make literacy promotion a standard part of pediatric health care. At every well-child check-up for over 26,000 kids each year, pediatric providers in Santa Clara County give each young child a new, developmentally appropriate book to take home and read with parents.
