A recent New York transplant, Lindsey is an analyst for the communications firm Edelman, where she has served the Technology, Corporate and Corporate Social Responsibility practices in various marketing and research functions. She holds a bachelor of science from Stanford University, where she studied neuroscience and the intersection of technology with philosophy and social sciences.
Lindsey first cut her marketing teeth in the non-profit sector, volunteering or interning at establishments like the Smithsonian, Sundance Film Festival and Planned Parenthood. Through those experiences, she realized the powerful role media can play in raising social awareness—especially a medium as social as the Web. Such is her interest and belief in the promise of Bring Light.
After graduating from college with a Computer Science degree, James worked for a computer company. However, he wasn’t fulfilled, so he became an assistant manager for a pet store.
Passionate about animals and graphic design, he found his match working in the marketing department at the Humane Society Silicon Valley.
Kyle has been involved in philanthropic causes since his college days at Louisiana State University. However, it was after he graduated from Rice University’s MBA program and enrolled at Tulane Law School that “giving back” became more than a catch phrase. Kyle saw first-hand the power of individual giving when, after his first week in law school, Hurricane Katrina slammed into his hometown of New Orleans.
Kyle has also been active in business and technology. Prior to law school, he gained valuable sales and consulting experience. In law school, Kyle has worked closely with the Louisiana Technology Park's program for aspiring entrepreneurs. It was this love of entrepreneurialism that brought him to Silicon Valley. Next fall, Kyle will join Fenwick & West LLP as a corporate associate in their Startup & Venture Capital practice.
As for giving back, Kyle’s main effort is to help inspire America’s youth to set goals, develop a plan, and achieve success in life. To further this effort, he has raised money to send a group of New Orleans kids to Silicon Valley to visit with some of the area’s most prominent technology companies and entrepreneurs. Kyle is in the process of establishing a nonprofit to bring this inspirational tour to other technology-deprived inner cities in the near future.

Growing up in Taiwan, Susie came to the U.S. in 2001 and has been living in Cupertino for 3 years now. She felt a strong urge to give back to the community that she loves and gave her so much. She created relationships with grocery store chains such as Safeway, Albertsons and Whole Foods, which resulted in the distribution of 1,000 pounds of food per week to people in need.
