About Bring Light

We founded Bring Light because of the number of challenges faced by both donors and nonprofits when it comes to charitable giving.

If you’re a donor or potential donor, you want to know where your money is going and see the tangible difference your donation makes. You want to know the charities you are donating to are legitimate. And you want your donation experience to be easy, safe and private.

For nonprofits, fundraising is a daily concern. Many traditional fundraising efforts are becoming either less effective, or more costly. It’s tough to meet new donors. And resource constraints make maintaining an up-to-date web presence difficult.

But the bottom line is: many people want to give and there are thousands of worthy charitable projects that need funding. Bring Light a way to connect those two together, and provide an experience that is rewarding for donors and efficient for nonprofits.

Since Bring Light was launched in May 2007, our donors have funded hundreds of charitable of projects both in the U.S. and internationally, and have been able to magnify the impact of their donation by using the site to invite friends and family to join them in reaching fundraising goals.

Bring Light has also pioneered a new way for any donor to take advantage of the benefits of a donor advised fund through our partnership with the American Endowment Foundation. This also ensures that 100% of donations go to the cause selected, and donors receive the maximum possible tax benefit.

And, unlike other sites that simply list the millions of 501(c)(3) organizations in the U.S., all charities on Bring Light must register first so we can validate their legitimacy.
